I just got back from attending my second meeting of the Northeast Modern Language Association. My experience at both conferences has been very positive: friendly people, interesting talks, good connections. But I would like to see a little more linguistics at NeMLA, and better opportunities for linguists to attend.

Our idea submitted to Jisc’s Research Data Spring was successful in passing to the next stage. Today I´ll participate in a workshop in London to present the idea.
The HEFCE metrics workshop: metrics and the assessment of research quality and impact in the arts and humanities took place on Friday 16 January 2015, 1030 to 1630 GMT at the Scarman Conference Centre, University of Warwick, UK. I have uploaded to figshare a dataset of 821 Tweets tagged with #HEFCEmetrics published during the day of the event.

Today I’ll participate via Skype at the HEFCE Metrics and the assessment of research quality and impact in the Arts and Humanities workshop, commissioned by the independent review panel. I share below some notes.
