OpenCitations is seeking applicants for a **one-year Research Fellow position **to be held from April 2023, for which the application closing deadline is 28 February 2023 . Currently, the amount and complexity of the data made available by OpenCitations opens up several issues related to the improvement, scalability and optimisation of its infrastructure.

Since its very beginnings, Wikipedia has been the target of criticism. The first (and negative) comparisons of its contents with those of other encyclopaedias are long gone, although the perception from academia was more optimistic. However, in education, the terrain in which this platform is most valuable, the controversy is greater. Its established use among students collides completely with the sceptical perception of part of the teachers.

Die größte Veränderung im DINI-Zertifikat 2022 ist neben der Umstrukturierung der OAI-Kriterien raus aus den Anhängen, die Anpassung an die spezifischen Anforderungen für eine Zertifizierung österreichischer Publikationsdienste. As we are about to start a new calendar and fiscal year, it is helpful to reflect on how we’ve done in the past year. Reflection is a helpful tool to celebrate achievements and to give feedback to ourselves, maybe even identify patterns we cannot see in the moment. 2022 was a big year for us at Liberate Science! We’ve achieved a lot with a small team.
This week I am a bit at a loss what to write about - I had drafts on the weaponization of meta-research, how to write an R package in 2022 (but the year's almost out), the consequences of owning your digital infrastructure. But none of it really fell into place enough yet.
