XPA UK September 2021 – Sketching UX Workshop About this event Thursday 23 September 2021, 18:30 – 20:00 UK Time. Free registration via EventBrite . As the old adage goes, a picture tells 1000 words. We’re seeing an increase of visual storytelling in UX and indeed many UX events are already complemented by a detailed Sketchnote – possibly courtesy of one of our very own Committee Members.
I nspired by the work by friends such as f [s] and Karl Whitney, I’ve dared to set up a newsletter to get me writing more about different things. It’s a cliché I know but I’ve titled the new site/newsletter User’s Manual . I’d like it to be an open notebook about memories, ideas, and things I care about.
T he UK Government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (SAGE) has advised that to prevent the NHS being under pressure the priority should be to avoid a very rapid return to pre-pandemic behaviour.
I am pleased to announce I will be a presenteer in The UK-Ireland Digital Humanities Network’s third event, which will be held on 15th July 2021, co-located with the Oxford Digital Humanities Summer School. The event will explore career Digital Humanities and career opportunities. Many thanks to Professor Jane Winters and the organising team for the kind invitation.

Full of hunger: their feet on this Earth.
T his week I had to go in my local GP surgery in London. I wondered if they would soon be removing the “Stop Coronavirus! Covid-19. Please wear your face mask” signage they have visible outside and inside. Working from home long hours, I haven’t really gone out much at all, and seeing the signs again made me reflect what a simple gesture that was, merely asking us to please wear a facemask.
