Leaving Twitter Today marks the thirty day period of my Twitter deactivation, which means my account is now slated for deletion. Taking this step is reminiscent of when I deleted my Facebook account over a decade ago. It again feels like a bigger thing than it practically is - I haven’t missed my account over the past thirty days, at all. Maybe some of you are thinking about keeping or deleting your Twitter account.

When we publish research, we are committing to preserving that research content for as long as we can. At the same time, we need to be realistic and recognize that Liberate Science (“the business”) is still young and it remains uncertain how long we will be around. How do we make sure copies of the research are archived and available in futures that may or may not include the business?

On June 28th, we assembled our supporting community to decide next steps, together (see our original agenda). In this post, we report some key points for those who were unable to attend. Business development The business is progressing steadily, but our revenue is not growing fast enough to cover costs as they are. We had a great quarter, where we covered around 44% of our expenses with our own income.
