A capybara is a large, herbivorous, semi-aquatic rodent that is native to South America. It is the largest living rodent in the world, weighing between 35 and 66 kilograms (77 and 146 pounds) and measuring up to 1.3 meters (4.3 feet) in length. Capybaras are social animals that live in groups near bodies of water such as rivers, lakes, and swamps. They have a thick, brown fur, webbed feet, and a broad, flat head.
