This post makes a case for universities investing in people and processes for reviewing research in house before publication. This idea has no doubt been proposed before and is probably already a feature of some academic institutions, but I wanted to clarify here why I think it would benefit academic research. High-energy physics research is often held up as the archetypal open science discipline.

Am 28.6.2022 wird die Vernetzungs- und Kompetenzstelle Open Access Brandenburg von 13 bis 15 Uhr eine digitale Schulung zu Creative Commons Lizenzen anbieten. Die Schulung wird Fabian Rack halten, Anwalt bei iRights.Law und Spezialist für CC-Lizenzen und Urheberrechte. Die Schulung richtet sich insbesondere an die Open-Access-Professionals an Hochschulen und Universitätsbibliotheken.

Am 28.4.2022 fand eine digitale Schulung zum Thema „Verlagsworkflows für Open-Access-Bücher“ statt, die die VuK organisierte. Hier finden Sie einen Überblick zu den Inhalten dieser Schulung. Die Schulung hielten Rebecca M. Walter und Dr. Anja Zeltner, die beide einen professionellen Hintergrund im Verlagswesen haben. Die Schulungsmaterialien wurden nun auf Zenodo veröffentlicht.

März geplante Schulung zum DINI Zertifikat für Publikationsdienste nachgeholt. Am 28.04. (13:00-14:30) stehen Einblicke in die Workflows für die Produktion von Open-Access-Büchern in Wissenschaftsverlagen auf dem Programm. Alle Interessierten sind herzlich eingeladen.
